Yeah, no.

I'm done.

Somehow it is not surprising that Louisiana has horrible Doctors given the culture. Too bad you are not up here in the People's Republic believe me the Docs up here would not be fucking around like that.

Oh it gets better.

Neuro Med dismissed me as a patient because I rescheduled my appointment 3 times (due to work). This came without any prior warning or counsel... not even a "hey, if you do this again, we're going to have to dismiss you."

Nope, just got a letter in the mail that I can never be a patient again due to the fact that I had reschedule 3 consecutive appointments. That's why I started going to the BR Clinic. I got fed up with their BS and stopped going... and now today, I see nothing has changed.

I'm not sure how it works there, but here they tend to need referrals from PCPs to move forward if you dont go to A&E first. Has to do with ruling out other lesser causes first I suspect.

This IS my neurologist (the one that called me back). They already have a referral from my primary care.

IMO, no matter if it was passing out or a seizure, it's a neurological thing and not a primary care thing.

The seizure is a new symptom so they may need a referral for that.
I agree its very stupid to have to be referred.
I took care of a guy that had horrible seizures, was on 5 different medications for it (which causes a whole other set of problems with bone density loss...but anyway)

It took us forever to get it to the point where we didn't always have to go through PCP when we suspected something was up with his seizures or seizure medication. Its a big joke.

I must say as a primary care provider I take offence Big Grin at the idea that everything neurological requires a neurologist. Everything I do fits into one specialty or another and there are many overlaps so seeing a primary care person for a new problem makes perfect sense. The cause of a "seizure" can be vascular , metabolic, infectious, cancer or drug induced as a few possibilities. This may or may not have been a true seizure but it certainly does merit an urgent assessment. By now , with the delay it may not require an ER visit but an urgent care visit would still be a great idea. Anyway I wish you all the best.

Newsflash...

I won't apologize for my concern for your health and your family.

Again... I never asked that.

You know what?

Just never mind. Forget I said anything. Not even worth it.

It's your prerogative to seek or not seek any medical care you choose.
(well, I assume it is, down there; it always is here, for an adult)

People are being brusque with you because it appears, to us, that you are neglecting your own health, and as we like you, we don't like that.

I know that I don't readily appreciate the financial costs and consequences; paying up-front for specialist care and risking employment due to outside medical issues are foreign concerns (very literally so). My gut reaction of "seek healthcare, you dipshit" isn't directly applicable.

You know, KC, as Anjele so rightly suggests, please just take everything that has been said here, by anyone and everyone, as a measure of the concern we all have for your health and your safety and that of your family.

Anyone who might run across this thread who doesn't give a fuck about you or your family, will just pass it by.

None of us would have said anything in this thread if we didn't give a shit.
