There is a canard on this forum about vague prophecies.

The Bible predicted the exact date of Jesus's crucifixion and the exact date in 1948 CE of Israel's birth (again) as a nation.

The first one is already debunked due to resons already mentioned several times.

The second...I Assume you're referring to Ezekiel's prophecy on his side.

Problem 1. There is no reason to convert the Jewish years to our years, as apologists say, without which the prophecy is wrong.

Problem 2. There is no scriptural indication that God punished the Jews for "Remaining in Pagan Babylon", none, none at all.

Problem 3. 1948 Cannot be considered the end of the Jew exile for the reason that the Jews were gathered back into their homeland independently twice since Ezekiel's prophecy, no reason to single out one instance.

So once you add in things that are not in the prophecy, sure it fits, but not as it is written in the book. And besides, You REALLY thinik the God of the OT would support modern Israel?, Really

But all that the believer has to do is cite non-biblical sources for the life of Jesus that conform to prophecy fulfillment. But because we know that the historical Jesus has no contemporary outside sources, this is something that believers have failed to do.

It's not that this line of argument is wrong intrinsically, it's just that it doesn't work with the evidence at hand.
The evidence is the Gospel spread all over the world.

So God speaks to Abraham and makes him a promise that includes being a Father of many nations. God is now a soothsayer and will go to hell. Oh the fumbling bumbling of the confounded mind.

Why not? God breaks his own rules all the damn time. Remember that whole "thous shall not kill bit" and then The Flood?

Dude, you even come prepared to refute your own arguments.

"The evidence is the Gospel spread all over the world.'

Just because everyone believes it, doesn't mean it is completely fucking wrong.

A fair point. The difference of course is God would have given life and it all therefore belongs to Him to do as He would please.
