You think the people would put the myth together even though its not true. and since the flood is in other religions it must be true.

Laugh out load

That may be the funniest thing you've posted so far.

"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down
ye-eah we wept and wrote the Torah while Jehova frowned"

(And now that I have finally actually read the lyrics of that song (and I use the word extremely loosely) - no wonder Boney M and their "music"have always made me ashamed to be human Facepalm )

"E se non passa la tristezza con altri occhi la guarderò."

Well, no not really. it just proves its a popular story and as most religions are almost identical anyway...you could dare even say they share a common ancestor Wink

Based on the number of conflicting myths popular in various cultures... yes. People are story tellers and stories evolve over time. There is nothing special about the Hebrew mythology unless you are brainwashed into not questioning it.

Except that places like Egypt and China have histories that go back further with no mention of the time they got wiped out... and there is no geological evidence of a world-wide flood. There is evidence of huge local floods in may areas but they date to different times and the commonality of flood legends is expected given the propensity of people to live near water.

All the "evidence" xians use for the flood washes away as soon as you look beneath the surface or try to take a deep dive (:lolSmile.

Yeah, it's fine as long as you only read the first few lines and ignore the bits about throwing infants against the rocks.

Yes they would. Many cultures experience a flood of one sort or another.
We even know where the flood story came from, (Epic of Gilgamesh, Tablet 11), and many elements are copied directly.

Yeah, that's much better, unfogged (seriously, just seeing Boney M in all their tacky, tasteless glory, makes my skin crawl. Not even sure why).

If I had to listen to vaguely (and creepily) religious songs (which, luckily, I don't. Unless it's baroque religious music, then I don't mind Rolleyes ) I'd go with this one, though...

"By the rivers dark
Where I could not see
Who was waiting there
Who was hunting me."

It still pains me every time I see such a gentle man as Cohen sing about about "lawless hearts", "unworthy prayers" and being a sinner. And then there's the multitudes before him, too. Such a meaningless, meaningless waste of human spirit Undecided

"E se non passa la tristezza con altri occhi la guarderò."

I believe every story has some truth to it. I dont think you can randomly make up a story without having earlier sources that you take from.
