Southern cooking
According to my friend Rosalyn I have totally desecrated her culture by not adding crawdads and black-eyed peas into my gumbo recipe. She says there should also be a little bit of turtle in there as well. To my southern neighbors from the Yankee girl with no sense how do you do your gumbo?

RE: Southern cooking
I don't have a gumbo recipe myself, but I can tell you that crawdads make *everything* better. Big Grin

RE: Southern cooking
Crawdads are not not optional, but TN isn't exactly known for its gumbo. Ask the Louisianian.

This is Southern US cooking, right?

You must not have enough carrion in your food.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

To tell you the truth I put shirmp, oysters, crab, and sausage. Tomatoes, okra , onion, green peppers, garlic, and saffron.

That's the gumbo my friend used to make - he was from Mississippi.
