Stephen Hawking ... no god(s) needed
Last evening at CalTech, Stephen Hawking told us how Relativity and Quantum Field Theory may have produced the Big Bang. No god(s) required. Tongue

You think the universe spontaneously arose because some old guy in a wheel chair said it might have happened that way?

I'll take the vastly smart "old guy in a wheelchair" word over the word of a theist thumping a bible any day!

No one has said that. Hawking presents a cogent theoretical approach to the problem of the origin of our universe, one that may be testable.
Quote:'However, if general relativity is combined with quantum theory, it may be possible to predict how the universe would start.'

Small fluctuations in the initial state of the Universe would lead to the formation of 'galaxies, stars, and all the other structure in the universe,' he said.

His theory could be tested when science develops the ability to detect gravitational waves by accurately measuring the distance between spacecraft.

"...some old guy in a wheel chair..." Fuck you , Heywood. You are a dick.

That was a troll comment. I apologize to the forum for making it.

Awesome stuff. I love that Hawking guy.

Side note, I wish you people would stop quoting that BlowJob idiot - not much point having him on ignore if I read all his crap when everyone quote him.

Maybe 'ignore' would be more useful if a sufficient number automatically triggered a ban.
You know, if 10 users put you on 'ignore', you cease to exist. Thumbsup
