Strange Dream with Cutting Curtains
First off, I don't believe in the "hocus pocus" of dream meanings but I do believe that stuff from our sub-conscious can come out in dreams; things we are worried about, problems we are trying to solve, etc.

I had one of those dreams last night. Most of it was just normal dreaming but one part jumped out at me.

I was with a group of people from my past I hadn't seen in a long time. We were outside. Suddenly, we were all standing in a room and it was very dark. I remember feeling uneasy, then scared when I began to hear noises and see monsters.

Then I heard someone tell me it was very simple to make it all go away. That is when I realized the dark room was only darkened by thin sets of black curtains which I began to cut down with scissors.

This in turn let in the light and then everything was fine.

Just wanting to get some opinions on this. Lately I have been struggling with the acceptance of some life changes. I've been reading a book lately that basically said the difference between a better life or the one you are stuck with could be as simple as making a decision. That's what my dream reminded me of so maybe it's just me trying to work out this concept in my dream?

You're in luck!

This is my field of expertise.

The room represents your current lifestyle and circumstances.
Your friends represent your past that you may or may not want to leave behind.
The scissors represent your decision-making ability.

It is interesting to note that you have control of the scissors (not anyone else).

Interpretation: The dream is telling you to seek out your old friends, slash them with the scissors and then slice them up into small pieces that you can then wrap with the shredded pieces of curtain before careful disposal.

Yes

No need to thank me. Any time.

Thumbsup

Sorry, kpax, don't mean to hijack your thread, just have a quickie for DLJ (Mind. Gutter. Out.).

What do recurring dreams of tidal waves crashing over you mean? Angel

Yabut I've been having those long before I was on any forum. Ha!

(Rather, it means I was trying to poke fun at DLJ. Shh! Don't tell him though)

RE: Strange Dream with Cutting Curtains
Id interpret it as you gaining power/coming out of the other side of your problems.

Either that or you wanting to resolve your problems.

Id say an important part is how did you feel when waking up? If it made you feel better than this is a good thing.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.
