Does anyone know if I can hook up an external HD to my 360?

I know Microsoft make a purpose built one, but its only compatible with the newer consoles... Mine's the old, white and grey 360.

I've got a 60GB drive in the top of it, but its nearly full... There's about 4 gig left.

Ideally I'd like to buy an off the shelf HD, with enough space to install the games I play most often.

But would it be compatible?

No, I don't think so. It's possible with the PS3 to bypass such stuff, but I think MS actually put some sort of lockout on the early versions. I think it would better if you uninstalled some the games you don't play much.

Its since GTA V came out... I've had to uninstall all my games to fit that on. Its a compulsory install, nearly 8GB.

Then I'm afraid you just need to choose either. How long did it take to install GTA V?

I think it took about ten minutes off the disk.

Most of the disk space is taken up with downloaded games and DLC.

Isn't there an account check or something that says that "you own this and that DLC" and can uninstall it and download it any time?

If you're looking for something on the 360 that is different, yet a lot of fun to play, this is your new best friend.

Nah, what he really needs to do is a no-glitch run of Superman 64.

Followed immediately by Robocop for the Gamecube.

RE: Suggest some games to try.
I've just been informed by GameSpot that a Kinect-less version of the Xbone is coming out next month... For under £300. Consider

Can't be arsed with Kinect... There's no controller to destroy when you get pissed off.

I'm tempted... But not yet, still need money, and some ideas of next gen games.
