Suggestions for old country music
Here's the deal. I hate country music with a passion. Modern day country is just giant belt-buckled cowpokes named Keith or Brad twanging on about laughably stereotypical subject matter (pickup trucks, and ex-wives, and their daddy, and america and the flag a wavin').

But I like old country. The music that tells a story with a heartfelt passion. The kind of music that when the song is over, you sit back and your chair and feel emotionally exhausted... like you just listened to an entire book on tape.

But the only artists I know so far are:

Marty Robbins
Johnny Horton (awesome Lego video)
Gordon Lightfoot (technically country)

"Ain't got no last words to say, yellow streak right up my spine. The gun in my mouth was real and the taste blew my mind."

"We see you cry. We turn your head. Then we slap your face. We see you try. We see you fail. Some things never change."
