RE: Harvest Moon
I mooned the KGB once.....

....

I was TAD on the USCGC Confidence -- and we had to check out a Soviet "Trawler" off of the Naval Weapons Station down by San Diego.....

....

It had a couple of nets hanging up -- and the most amazing array of antennas you've ever seen on a ship... (I was a radioman - and got called up to the bridge to use the binocs and see if I could get a count...)

We pulled up within a couple hundred yards of it - and a bunch of us were on the 01 deck outside the galley - -and the Reds on deck were waving at us ---so about a dozen of us mooned 'em........

So much for detante......

Sadcryface

I lived in the DC-Baltimore corridor for a few years. The night sky was orange. I feel your pain.

you have my complete sympathy, and my encouragement to change your view now and again. I happen to think this is within your reach. Wink

Too much light pollution here so no moon at all.

I was reminded of a Vietnamese friend called Moon who I haven't seen for a couple of years and then I got to thinking ... I can't remember the last time I saw any moon, let alone a harvest one.

And stars? What are they?

Anyone else with the same problem?

Sadcryface

Not me. No
Here's the harvest moon rising.

I have an answer of sorts. Come to one of the good places to view the eclipse next year and get a good dose of the beauty.

Nope, no such problem here. That is why I moved off to a Caribbean island to get away not only from the ice and snow, but also the pollution.

From a recording made in 1909, so it 107 years old. Wow.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Out here in the sticks, on a clear night, the sky is explosion of starlight adorning the moon's calm face.

There were actually more but a lot of them wound up getting trapped in concrete in this sidewalk in LA. All the holes left in the sky are real easy to see looking up from that sidewalk Tongue
