Super human color vision
This is fascinating. There are some women who can see more color than other women. Women tend to perceive color better than men however it may be socially influences as women often work with color more than men do. Clothing, home decorating even makeup sharpens our color perception. However it has been proposed that some women even have more cones than usual making them tetrachromats. They have four different working cone cells.

This is a study of men and women and their range of color perception. I haven't gotten through the whole thing yet but so far it's also interesting. And who knew that there was a Journal of Vision magazine?

I think this color test might have been posted before but here it is again. My computer screen isn't very good with color so I haven't done will on this test.

I just took that color test a on Thursday... I got a 4, the blue-green distinction I failed right in it's middlely teal range. Though my laptop screen is new and quite good, so maybe I get better quality than some others.

I got a 54, but my age might be a factor.

I got 12 (I'm 40 but I have a relatively new monitor). I remember that I did well on it last time that I did it. My husband got 60 and he has 20/20 vision whereas I need to wear glasses.

I didn't take the test, I don't think I can with my iPad, but I wanted to share this. Radiolab did an extremely enjoyable podcast on color and our perception of it Thumbsup I highly recommend!

I hope that the world turns, and things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you. - V for Vendetta

I got 26.

Is that a good thing?

I just LOVE radiolab. Thumbsup I'll listen later today. Thanks.

One of the things I read was that there might be a greater ability for women to spot different shades of red because in our tribal days women were the berry pickers and had to look for this color. It's not conclusive though.
