Get your voice signatures tattooed instead.

OK, I see it's the tats, not the hieroglyphics that he doesn't like, or I'd suggest something from the Elder Futhark. That's a cool "alphabet".

I was a nerd before being a nerd was considered a good thing.......

In fact -- my SO and I are both ham radio operators......

It used to be, that if you wanted to be a bonafide nerd, you had be able to copy Morse code.

Nowadays, they'll let anybody with a bit of electronic gadgetry in the club..............

Sorry bud, Morse Code is now obsolete in the world. Sad I was never really good at it, but could tap some out. My son bought an external hard drive for his computer awhile back. I was looking at the case, and noticed squares and rectangles, and thought, Morse Code! Sure enough, the vent holes molded in the case spelled out "quality", "integrity" and some other stuff. Don't remember the brand. I'll check it out...

RE: Talk Nerdy To Me ;)
Let a,b,c,d, and n ≥2 be integers. Also, assume a≡b (mod n) and c≡d (mod n). Show that:

1) a+c≡b+d (mod n)

2)a-c≡b-d (mod n)

3)ac≡bd (mod n)

Observation

To show that two integers, say a and b, are congruent modulo n or a≡b (mod n), then we must show that n divides a-b or n|a-b. Note that n|a-b implies that a-b=nk for some integer k.

Proof

1) Since a≡b (mod n) and c≡d (mod n), then this means that [1] a-b=nr and [2] c-d=ns for some integers r and s. Now, adding equations [1] and [2] gives a-b + c-d=nr+ns or a+c -(b+d)=n(r+s) where r+s is an integer. Consequently, n|a+c -(b+d). Therefore, a+c≡b+d (mod n).

2) Using our work from 1), subtract equation [2] from equation [1], which gives a-b -(c-d)=nr-ns or a-b -c+d= n(r-s) or a-c -(b-d)=n(r-s) where r-s is an integer. Thus, n|a-c -(b-d). Hence, a-c≡b-d (mod n).

3)Using equations [1] and [2] from 1), let a=nr+b and c=ns+d. Then ac=(nr+b)*(ns+d) or ac=nrns+nrd+nsb+bd or ac-bd=n(rns+rd+sb) where rns+rd+sb is an integer. Thus, n|ac-bd. Hence, ac≡bd (mod n).
