Since Microsoft integrated IE into Windows, I'd suggest not uninstalling it. Just delete the shortcuts to it, make the browser of your choice the default browser, and live with the few kb of disc it takes up. Really, it's not that big.

Shame on you, I act so professional, yet you say things like this...

As for the Explorer, I did heard that you can remove it from Win7, but I never tried it, must be because I am still loyal to my version of XP. I would not recommend removing it though, it is integrated in the whole Windows, so who knows what kind of problems could it cause.

My daughter is into computers in a huge way, would like to get into server architecture one day but is happy enough just keeping them running at the moment.

No Karl, it goes like this, you hit the switch, a whole bunch of zeros and ones start their sequencing and the computer then translates all that 1100101001100101010 nonsense into words and pictures for your eyes only... Binary language is so great, everything we see around us can be translated into binary language. Even time travel is possible if you know the right formula.

Unfortunately no, I don't do hacking, but I'm sure I could Google it a bit for you, if I see a solution, I will let you know, OK?
