However, most of modern HD games support 720 natively. You can generally see what resolution your game supports on the back of the game's packaging.

Make sure that the Xbox component cable is set to "HD" rather than "TV".

It's suppose to be a problem with the resolution setting and your cable.

Well I'll try it. But why wouldn't it with on the other laptop? All settings were the same...

Now, when in Windows, run chkdsk c: /r , it will ask you do you want to schedule it after restart, you must enter y for yes and then restart. Be patient... But not the hospital one.

When it finishes, you can run more check disks for other partitions, if you have them on this HDD.

chkdsk d: /r , chkdsk e: /r ...

yes. One of those weird things.
When i brought it home, i booted, went to eat something, and when i came back it was still stuck.
So i powered off (i promise i will only do this if it is frozen)
and booted again. Went to smoke something, came back, fixt. Scheduled dskchk, restarted, after diskcheck finished, i started ccleaner, did everything(did you know i had 3GB of duplicate videos and music? Facepalm )
restarted, started defragler. Still bussy, defragler is quite slow. It's already running a half hour with 99% cpu.
Also, can i schedule ccleaner to do his thing once a week or something?

Oh, and another thing. Since i added my old hard drive a few months ago, the bios asks me to "pres F1 to continue"
how can i remove that? It is just a small anoyance,no biggy.

Can you now just start the command prompt and write chkdsk c: , then copy paste the info here. This time without /r part, it's over in a few seconds.

Defragmenting your HDD takes up some time, it's normal, but very good for your PC.

Yes, you can schedule tasks somewhere in CCleaner. Run regisry cleaning as well, if you didn't. No need to save the backup, at least I never needed it.

About the F1 message, it should not be there. This means you have some faulty settings in BIOS, most probably concerning the new HDD. Can you write the exact message here?

Were all the cables the same as well?

Can you capture a video from any other device on your laptop?

Defragler still running.
And that's just for 2 disks with a combined capacity of 80 GB. Facepalm
41% and 26% fragmented before.

Same cables, same settings, same Xbox.

Only two devices I tried were the EasyCap and Roxio, both of which do not work. I tried other 3rd party recording software and the same issue persisted.

So all that equipment works on one laptop, but not the other? Shit. Yeah, something is wrong with your side of the story, but it's hard to pinpoint it like this. Try googling a bit more, if I think of something I let you know.

Oh and, have you tried the newest drivers for Roxio, including the newest drivers of your graphic card and chipset?

You should put one disk at a time. One partition at a time. Not all together. Works so much faster that way. Sorry, didn't mention it. Your system partition is the most important here, the other are not so much.

I went through all that, yes. It's no big deal, was just curious if you had any other ideas. Thanks for trying though Smile
