Tempescope
More technological than scientific but still somewhat scientific and cool and since the forum doesn't have a technological section. The Tempescope is a physical ambient display of the Weather. Invented and Programmed by Ken Kawamoto, a software engineer. It is not currently out for purchase commercially but Ken has released OpenTempescope, an open source version of Tempescope with instructions on how to build your own. This is a very cool invention and I want one sooo much.

Here it is in action:

I love rain and the sounds of rain. I want one so badly now as I'm soon about to move into the desert zones where I'll miss rain so much.

You could always build one, in the link above they give detailed instructions on how to make your own.

That seems a bit redundant

What's it do during a tornado???

Fly about the room knocking shit down????

Seem like the tornado could do that on it's own....

And didn't somebody invent something that does this a long time ago?

Called a "window"?????

It can give future forecasts too Dodgy If you're laying in bed and you want to know what the forecast for tomorrow is you could either go to a computer, get out your phone, or just look over at your nightstand.

RE: Tempescope
As I'm currently in the desert, I looked at the weather report on my phone of my old home and my phone had a cool thunderstorm graphic of out there, and it made me recall this and wonder how the events of this doodad has gone.

Turns out, to my dismay, it had a failed indiegogo project to get it to a commercialized point. That was more my idea of making it more or less cool, not really using your weather but setting the system of your device to other locations where they have ongoing storm or something or just some other region weather.

I mean there is like rainymood weather sites but nothing else I've ever stumbled across that is a working replication of x area in a graphical or functional manner.

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

A window with a view won't do what this device does.
