"We" don't "need" anything.

You don't have anything. The gunmakers have money. That's all.

Both are impossible while the gunmakers own the politicians.

It's not money.
Gun control is the third rail of politics.
Because of votes.
You know. Democracy?

Rocks! Damn rocks have been killing people longer that any other method.

We do limit knives. In the US (and Canada) several types of knives are forbidden to be owned and others are forbidden to be carried in public or in certain areas. If it's legal to ban certain knife types, which are by all account much less deadly and easier to use than guns, why couldn't we ban certain types of gun? In fact, some types of guns are forbidden. Why not ban more types of guns like handguns or high capacity semi-automatic rifle? These are the one's most commonly used by criminals and with the most "efficency". Of course, current gun laws could ben enforced with more zeal. We banned certain types of knives under these exact same terms and circomstances.

You keep forgetting the part where "shootings" are the result of "guns" because "guns" fire "bullets". Yes, other killings happen with other things. That doesn't mean that "shootings" cannot be reduced if we reduce "guns".

Overheard in a cave, circa 10,000 BC.

"That Ogg guy in the cave down the valley is an NRA member... The National Rock Association is responsible for all the rock violence because they think that just anybody should be able to own an assault rock! I don't mind a guy owning a rock for self defense, but when they start throwing them - it's a whole different ballgame!! Assault rocks are made for killing, not self defense!!"

Very well thank you. As a knife and sword collector, I still managed to find some for my collection by buying a non sharpen version of those knives in cheaper metal that looked authentic enough and are perfectly legal.

You will also notice that the canadian policies on firearms is, amongst other, responsible for the much lower level of homicide in Canada than the USA despite the fact that the USA are richer.

Are you really fine with all those mass shootings?
