Thanking who?
This Thanksgiving, as you sit around the dinner table expressing gratitude, ask your self who exactly are you thanking.Weeping

RE: Thanking who?
1. Welcome to TTA.

2. Very few people on this site are Murikan so they've never heard of Thanksgiving. Wink

3. See here for some answers to your question.

Thanking who?
Being thankful and thanking are two different things.

Well let's see. Hubby works hard to pay for the food.

I shop for the food.

I clean the house.

I pick up his mother.

I keep his mom's wine glass filled.

Together (hubby and I), we cook the meal.

We eat the meal.

Kids clean up.

So obviously I thank my family, because they're the reason I have any thing. They have my undying gratitude.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

RE: Thanking who?
and btw, speaking as an ignorant foreigner, isn't Thanksgiving the time when the Murikans thank the Injuns for letting them borrow their land?

Consider

"And let us finally give thanks to the chosen one, who gave his life so we might partake in this bountiful feast. .... yes I'm talking about the turkey."

Consider

"Thank", "let", "borrow", and "their" are all very, very, very much not jiving with what's happening on that front.

RE: Thanking who?
I'm thanking myself, I am where I am because I decided to come here and persevered, and I have what I have because I worked, made money and bought it.

I thank my parents for raising me to be self sufficient and clear thinking.

I thank my dogs for helping to keep me safe and for making me love and laugh every day.

If my husband was alive, I would thank him for standing by me through thick and thin.

That's who I'm thanking. Big Grin
