RE: Thawing the turkey
You can always call 1 800 butterball.

I do know you are not to wash it, that just distributes the bacteria and you want them to stay put on the surface.

I have had them thawed in the fridge for a week with no ill effects.

Touch - there must be no slime.

Smell, you'll know.

Call the butterball folks, they will err on the side of caution.

Slimey, bacteria-filled turkey. Sadcryface Rainbow Vomit

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

RE: Thawing the turkey
Turkey eating update.

So six hours ago I ate the turkey with dressing, potatoes with gravy, pie with hot tea and my stomach feels perfectly fine. HOWEVER, our bathroom toilette pipe burst and we have water all over the upstairs bathroom which leaked into our downstairs bathroom and the laundry room. I've used every rag and towel in the house to sop up the water plus our two mops.

Hubbie is going to make a trip to Home Depot tomorrow for repairs.

Happy Thanksgiving to us. Dodgy

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Good thing the bird was ok, you'd really be needing that toilet otherwise.
