"The only thing worse than hearing no side of a story, is hearing just one side of it"

This comes from my dad, and unfortunately falls under 'selective use'. He was all about this whenever he got into fights with my mother after they divorced, but not so much anymore. He doesn't get that asking the other people at his church doesn't count as 'other sides' vis a vis the truthfulness of Christianity. Facepalm

I'm still not entirely sure if he meant this literal or philosophical... Consider
Knowing him, probably literal..

My best friend when I was a kid had a pet rabbit. One day we trapped a wild rabbit and did exactly that. Not a good idea, your dad was right.

The wild rabbit ended up humping the pet rabbit in the face for twenty minutes. He must have hit his mark a couple times before we got him out of there, though. Shortly after the pet rabbit passed a bunch of stillborn baby rabbits.....

At least that's what my friend told me after that happened, I suppose he could have been lying to me. Kids are bastards like that. Either way, it was obvious that it wasn't the brightest of things to do.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I cant think of any that someone has given me....either the people in my life suck or I just didnt pay any attention to them, both are very likely.
