My Oma made it with the crumbs too.
So many cats, so few good recipes. |

RE: The Baking Thread
I enjoy baking - mostly because I like baked goods.
![]() My repertoire is limited to pies, cakes, brownies, and cookies; nothing fancy. I am the family shortbread cookie maker, though I am trying to teach the next generation. This is a traditional Scottish shortbread, a family recipe. Another family recipe is our family birthday cake which is my grandmother's chocolate cake with Sea Foam frosting. The family recipes are closely guarded secrets. Torture wouldn't make me divulge them. Sex, yes - torture, no. Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims. Science is not a subject, but a method. ![]() |

It doesn't have any crumbs on top in Bavaria though.I agree, the scent alone is wonderful. Especially freshly baked and it fills the whole kitchen That's funny! I am born and raised in Munich, and I never saw any Zwetschgendatschi with crumbs. That would make it Streussel... ![]() |

RE: The Baking Thread
I baked a cake for a friend to thank him for baking me a pie.
Then I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to bake cakes for people other than your boyfriend, so I baked a second one for him so he wouldn't get jealous. Now I have two cakes in my fridge, and they must remain there until Tuesday. That's the hard part. "But the point is, find somebody to love. Everything else is overrated." - HouseofCantor |
