The Cold War
According to U.S. taught history the Cold War was the wests attempt to curb soviet lead communist expansion. Early propaganda videos portray the so jet union as on the brink of starting to conquer the world. Is there any evidence that A. The Soviet Union wanted to do this after their country was destroyed during ww2

Or

B. the Soviet Union had the capabilities after ww2 to conquer the world.

What was the Cold War? A campaign for the American empire? Considering that is overwhelmingly mainly the west that built up military bases all over the world and invaded every place except your granny's dildo drawer.

It was a who has the biggest dick contest between two different political ideologies based on paranoia that the other side would gain the upper hand and wipe the other out.

Behold the power of the force!

Was it paranoia for the soviets to think the u.s. was attempting to control the world?

According to South Australian taught history, the Cold War was the result of cultural shock in the United States when the Russia showed itself to be a great power, at least on par with the United States, if not more powerful than it. The US felt threatened by this newly emerged power and formed alliances with other western powers as a counter to the rapid growth of the USSR, which claimed a lot of territory during and after the war, effectively being an expansionist power, making itself more threatening to the Western world.

All of the Cold War wound down into an economic and ideological cat-fight between the USSR and affiliated communist/socialist nations and the Capitalist nations, who often vied over territory by proxy.

also, last I checked, the US never had an empire, though it could be that the USSR might been referred to as an empire.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

Oh I'm just thinking in black and white. If you've invaded once or a 100 times you still invaded! Your either with the invader or against them. Anything less means you have no principals Dodgy

RE: The Cold War
The Soviet Union didn't want to conqueror the world. Eastern Europe maybe, but not the world.
It wasn't about that.
The Soviet Union did however want to spread Communism, just as America wanted to spread "Democracy"
This is what the cold war was about, not each country wanting world domination. Sure, world domination in a sense that everyone is communist and thus allied with me or everyone is Democratic thus allied with me. But for example, the USSR had no intention of physically owning the world.

So take a country during the Cold War, Nam' for example. You have people in Nam who want to become Communist, so the USSR see's this as a good thing and so supports those troops (via training, and weapons etc..). The US see's the spread of Communism as bad and so provides training and weapons and troops to the opposition of the Communist "rebels".

Thus proxy wars and thus Cold War.
It was between the spread of 2 differing ideologies and about basically getting as many countries as possible on your side (supporting your ideology).
