I reckon they ripped themselves off with that price. Bunch of cocknobs.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

RE: Ark encounter sold to.......themselves.... for 10 bucks.
From a standpoint of fire safety, service levies, public liability, and taxation both state and federal, this amusement park should be treated identically to all the others in the US that make (potentially) millions of dollars annual profit.

They're all in it—the Ark included—to make lotsa moolah, despite any contradictory philanthropic claims. The notion that an imaginary, mythical "god" should allow the Ark to pay less levies and taxes than any other similar business is ludicrous in the 21st century.

I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God.

Creationists sell Christian theme park to themselves to avoid paying $700,000 in taxes
International Business Times

"Ark Encounter LLC sold the park's land on June 28 to its nonprofit affiliate, Crosswater Canyon, for ten dollars, just a day before the city sent a letter rejecting the organization's request to be exempted from a new safety tax because of its religious affiliation.

By selling the land to its nonprofit counterpart, the group has claimed that the park is a non-profit establishment and not subject to the new safety tax passed by city officials. The safety tax, if implemented by the city, would collect 50 cents of every entry ticket sold on $40 adult tickets and $28 children’s tickets.”

It would be just deserts if the place needed the fire or police department and they didn't show up because they were understaffed due to a revenue shortfall. Evil_monster

Dammit! Where is Thor and Zeus with their lightening bolts when you need them.

It looks like their little stunt cost them an $18 million tax rebate. Laugh out load http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyath...encounter/

It appears that as a result of the transfer of the Ark assets to a non-profit to avoid the 50cent levy, AiG is in breach of the conditions allowing it to obtain exceptional tax breaks. The Ark has therefore had those tax breaks removed.

It's shot itself in the foot to the tune of $18 million. All in order to save potentially $700,000 in levies over the same period.

But then Creationists have always had problems with numbers over 6000.

Nice! If his tax-tricks no longer work, then maybe his little con-game is going to implode in on itself.
