RE: The "Dammit" Thread
God damn it to hell! This fucked up city and system.
The city is sort of biggish (1 million of people) and full of beggars. I don't bother with the homeless ones, they're well adjusted to hanging out together, smoking and drinking cardboard box wine... But there are pensioneers stopping me, asking for some train money or travel money or just a couple of coins. I don't know why some of them need travel money, but those I haven't seen twice. My guess is they're really just regular pensioneers but the rent is so high that they can't afford anything besides it from the state pension. The pension system is really a big Ponzi scheme, since my politicians fucked that up and didn't make any reserves when the economy was growing.

Today I got stopped by a man, looked old, old clothes, teeth rotten or out... I asked him how much he needed. But he said he's not a beggar nor a pensioneer, he's 43 and needs to go home, travel 400 km and needs a few hundred,- (which would fit the travel ticket in local currency). He had a young voice and didn't sound happy about begging and he did show me he had something very wrong and painful looking bulging out of his belly - possibly an oversized liver. I inquired further and he said he was lying in hospital for the last 4 weeks or so. Now he needs travel money.

I tried to give him some advice (already tried, didn't work) and then
I gave him my lunch money which is about the most I ever give, I didn't have much on me anyway. And these money are not mine. I don't have a job yet (need to finish my degree 3 in shortened time) and my money sense is deformed since my parents lived for 6 years on the dole. I live under an assumption that those who have a job might be more generous. I used to send some money to charity when I had a job about 4 years ago.
Anyway, I wonder where is the man traveling in such a ruined state, in which hospital won't help. Travelling to die at home, I wonder? Going to see someone?

OK, if anyone says I'm a heartless thrifty bastard, I take it, I don't know but that is a real possibility. Anyway, I keep telling this story of my financial disability to the beggars who ask me. It's true. I guess all the rich people have cars and don't walk or use the subway. I wonder if my economy lectures at school would look differently if the professors walked the streets too. I think they'd include much more Marx and less this financial derivates bullshit.

As Jacque Fresco says, This shit got to go!

Damnit...what I thought was a bad ear infection may actually turn out to be a perforated eardrum...saw my doc this morning, going to a specialist in a couple hours...and I have tickets to a concert tonight...probably not the best plan.

I'm not anti-social. I'm pro-solitude. Sleepy

I got drenched.

I knew a girl who did that and it shattered her windshield.

I didn't shed a tear, but I sure shed a few curses under my breath.
