RE: The Depression/Anxiety Thread
Depression really sucks but can't decide what's worse: anxiety or depression.
I had my first bout of depression 3-4 years ago and I learned that the best is to ignore negative thoughts and just to focus on the bright side of life.
Music helped me a lot and being active all the time.

Even if it worked with depression, can't get rid of my anxiety. I can't even describe how pathetic it feels Angry

I'm not sure what's worse... For me it alternates. I'd say most of the time anxiety is worse for me.

Today is my third day off, I work tomorrow. Getting anxiety which is stressing me out... Trying to train myself to chill the fuck out but it's difficult.

I know how it feels. The more you think about it and try to stop worrying, it is getting worse. Hate it.

RE: The Depression/Anxiety Thread
I've left it only about a year or so ago. I still have some people worrying that I might go back because of that need of comfort within the family. I learned my lesson long ago that comfort of that sort is a carrot that can be dangled in front of me but never eaten (slight Minecraft reference if you like riding harnessed pigs Big Grin ).

I am keeping busy, but also knowing sometimes I need a break. I'm more easy on myself, and if there ever are questions I will certainly come here. Hug to y'all. Wink

I like to do my breathing exercise when I get anxious. Just paying attention to it and keeping a steady rhythm and mentally noting myself inhaling and exhaling - especially before sleeping. By all means, steal this! Big Grin

Yeah, mediation basically. I do this often.

Depends - if you're in a panic attack, it's a breathing exercise. Big Grin

Who do you ask to mediate your anxiety?

At the moment I have a doctor that gave me a xanax prescription, but I'm moving so idk if I'll get it when I move, I'd like to stop taking it.

If your question meant who do I ask while meditating, I don't ask anyone. There is no supernatural woo to this meditation technique. Mindfulness meditation is just sitting, doing nothing but listening to thoughts without allowing yourself to get lost in thought and feeling the sensations of the body. It's relaxing so it helps with the anxiety a bit.

RE: The Depression/Anxiety Thread
I have been abused physically, emotionally, and sexually from birth into adulthood. I was officially diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder Type II, and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder in 2002. I have been been in talk therapy and medication management ever since. It took several years to find the right medicinal cocktail for me. Every couple to few years I have to have something changed because my body gets too used to one medication or another. It's been a long and hard 11 years of therapy. I'm an ever learning, ever growing, work in progress.
