You aren't chasing truth; you're looking for yet another way to assert superiority. (Why so insecure?) Even so, there's no essential incompatibility between truth and happiness.

And what mastery am I gonna achieve over a herd of stampeding atheists?!

Of course, there is a difference between truth and happiness. The truth is that I am going to die, and that does not make me happy.

I didn't assert that truth is equal to happiness, only that the two are not incompatible. There are numerous possible emotional positions regarding any truth (factual or gustatory).

Truths that were associated with my happiness today would include that blackberries taste good and that Telemann is not as good as Bach, but he's still fun to play. There were some truths Regarding which I felt viciously sad today (the terrible nightclub killings).

Why not? I celebrate it. Would you rather live forever? Why? You looking forward to interminable boredom?

You need to do go where the Border Collies tell you to go.
