The characters felt more like people and less like bare archetypes like in the original. Kylo Ren's immaturity really added to the character, and the scene where he thrashes the computer console with his lightsaber only highlights the difference between him and the Darth Vader he tries to emulate.
Yes, Vader would have held the Commander accountable, would have killed him and appointed someone else as commander. (but if he had done that then it would have been a cliche)

But instead Kylo just throws a tanty.

I guess they were trying to make us think he might swing to the light side because he wasn't as vicious as a Sith ought to be. Made us think he might have doubts about killing Hans. Perhaps if I were 12-15 I might have bought into it. It is hard to compare my experience watching a movie in my early teens to watching a movie in my 40's

Go read The three Musketeers. Now that is an action story and far superior to any film made of it. One of the best rollicking adventures I ever read.

Still, it was just a story. Wink

There is more story behind Star Wars than just what are in the movies.

Arguably, the best Star Wars story.

I've already read the history of Rome. No need to read the copy that is Star wars.

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

Banjo, it's a video game. You are the protagonist.

RE: The Force Awakens
Finally saw it. I think it's my favorite episode, but I might be biased because of the superior visuals, sound design, light saber fights, and Daisy Ridley Drooling

Really glad I watched it in Imax too

There ARE seven. I liked the prequels just fine.

... Okay, so maybe I could do without Jar Jar Binks, but he didn't bother me to the extent that he bothered everyone else.
