RE: The Gun Thread
Some people I know like to talk about their "toys", a lot. Maybe you've not met the type, but I have. What's your problem? Can't understand any other perspective than your own gun-nutter worldview? People get so fucking emotionally attached to that shit...

How many threads do we need to debate guns laws and the morality of guns? I can point you toward more threads if I need to.

Is it possible to have a thread about guns without the debate? Apparently not.

People abandoned those threads for one reason or another. Is it really a surprise that someone came to an active one to debate? Drinking Beverage If you don't like the posts, skip them and don't reply. The person you are ignoring will move on or make a new thread.

I don't see how he's interpreting anything I'm saying as a debate on laws. All I've said has centered around public perception of people with grenades... I've only responded aggressively partially because Carlos pissed me off.

He does that. Emotions run high when talking about someone's personal hobby. Drinking Beverage

It would be like discussing the problems with D&D to a devout player and expecting them to just take it in stride Thumbsup

RE: The Gun Thread
Yeah, I get how I'd be frustrated if people called motorcycles pointless, but insulting my friends (and myself, via "liberal" as a slur) was over the line. Just not called for...

As you can see, I'm a liberal that supports responsible gun ownership (see my earlier post with my guns). I just like to see things from other perspectives than my own...

TBD, derailing is nothing new, it happens more often than not, but you are just promoting derailment of this thread because you refuse to accept that this doesn't have to be a political discussion. It is in the Casual Coffeehouse for a reason. Go troll the politics section if you want to argue policy, law, morality, etc.

I know you won't, so I will take your advice and ignore all of your comments on this thread.

Yes, clearly I came to derail the thread, not address someone in a discussion who was already derailing it.

Precisely the reason to have some moderated threads.
