Precisely the reason to have some moderated threads.

The threads are moderated. You know, you could have just started a new thread instead of (gasp) contributing to what you consider to be the derailment of your thread.

We called 'em Christian-makers 'cause you just pull up off the coast, fire a few rounds, and the pagans come running asking "Where do we sign up to be Christian, boss?"

Those were BB guns next to the Nazi railway gun the Schwerer Gustav.

It could fire a 80cm dia, 16,000 lb shell over 20 miles. The were used in the Siege of Sevastopol to destroy underwater ammunition magazines.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwerer_Gustav

But of course neither of those compared with the M65 'Atomic Annie' which could fire a 15kt nuclear weapon.

I've read about those weapons. Fucking monstrosities.

BTW, you know we need them to protect ourselves against the government.Big Grin

They're just a like any other weapons collector.

You like guns and grenade launchers. I know people that have said they wouldn't let their kids go to someone's house if they had a gun, let alone "evil assault rifles" and grenades wouldn't even cross their mind. These are normal people, in Texas not Massachusetts. What you might think of as normal isn't necessarily normal to the rest of the population.

There are a great number of collectors of military weapons. It's a hobby.

Butterfly collectors are creepy.

Not really, butterflies don't kill people. Perhaps a little girly, but not creepy.

Most people find people that collect weapons, particularly explosives, to be creepy or unnerving.
Actually, I have been attacked by butterflies on several occasions. That's why I need my guns! I'm being stupid.

RE: The Gun Thread
I have a few rifles, and a shotgun.

Haven't fired anything recently, though.
