The Half Hour News Hour
Seeking to capitalize in the news satire genre of Comedy Central's The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, Fox News produced their won satire program called The Half Hour News Hour, which contained satire with a right wing slant for Fox's conservative audience. The pilot ran on Feburary 18, 2007 with horrible results. Reviewers described watching the show as "slow torture". A handful of episodes were produced before even Fox News finally yanked it from their already painful lineup in August of the same year.

Among their awful segments was this one on atheism.

"IN THRUST WE TRUST"

"We were conservative Jews and that meant we obeyed God's Commandments until His rules became a royal pain in the ass."

- Joel Chastnoff, The 188th Crybaby Brigade

Yup. A real stinkeroo.

When even the O'Reilly/Hannity/Beck crowd rejects a show as being below their level, you KNOW it's the pits.

Religious disputes are like arguments in a madhouse over which inmate really is Napoleon.

RE: The Half Hour News Hour
Fox has extensive comedy writers working for them, it couldn't be that hard to get some to write for the show. It doesn't look like they had much faith in it to begin with.

Behold the power of the force!
