Dunno, but I guess stuff was mostly new since other bands like In Flames promoted their new stuff. Other bands like Killswitch Engage and Anthrax kept it old-school, playing the Holy Diver cover and Metal Thrashing Mad. Belladonna even looked me in the eye and gave me thumbs up for being the only guy headbanging for realz in the right front row.

You mean this one?

This vid summarizes what I do when I listen to Meshuggah; Bedpost Tomas.

Hardly heard much of them. Kreator is an very rare occasional listen. Eventually I'll give them the attention they deserve.

I think you need a little Slayer '85, when Slayer was the closest they could ever get to prog(Yes, Hell Awaits is a Prog-Thrash album).

Yeah, they did rule. They're just not very good any more methinks.

Ah sigh, the good old days of Thrash...

If they're smart, Slayer will release their new album now and not do anything after that. Having an album with no work from the late Jeff is doomed to suck.

As for Sepultura, it lost any momentum after Max quit in 96. I have never been much of a fan of Roots anyway, I find that album to be a bit try-hard at being edgy. And it's a part of a lot of albums that spawned the unholy child that is Nu-Metal. Urgh.
