The "Holy Lands"
The constant fighting over “The Holy Lands” is truly a shining example of behavior based in ignorant superstition. When some ignoramus decides it’s worth killing other people to be in control of a particular spot on the planet because “that’s the particular spot where God did such and such”, they’re showing their ignorance of basic facts.

No spot on earth is “exactly where something happened”. People who espouse such beliefs are either unaware of, or ignore the fact that the earth isn’t stationary, with the sun and universe revolving around it. There are no fixed spots in space. Everything is relative to the movement of everything else. Nothing is really static.

The earth revolves on it’s axis at over 1000 miles per hour. Think of that. If you stayed in a stationary spot (in relation to the earth) in New York, in three hours you’d be on the west coast. Except for the fact the earth is revolving around the sun - in which case you’d be off in space several hundred thousand miles. And the sun revolves around the center of the galaxy. So, that “stationary spot” you considered is really way the fuck out there in a few hours.

After a couple of thousand years, “The place where Jesus was born” is actually a point in space so far from the earth you’d measure in light-years instead of miles.

So a note to all those fanatics who are willing, ready, able and anxious to go out and kill the “heretics” -

You’d better find a new reason to kill your neighbors.

I believe “they smell funny” might work. Good luck.

The difference between prayer and masturbation - is when a guy is through masturbating - he has something to show for his efforts.
