While I have no respect for the religious beliefs of others (What makes their beliefs so special that it deserves tiptoes?)

I do feel that you have to be respectful of the person.

Honestly, if you were a christian and you were talking to an atheist who was acting like a pompus ass, would you even want to consider what they were saying??

Food for thought.

Am I acting like a pompus ass?

Does it really matter what I think?

Well if you really want my opinion.

I think you're riding the line.

There are times to be respectful and when to let loose.

There are different ways to approach different situations and people, extreme confrontation is not always the best way.

But I do not know you well enough to say anything past that.

I agree. I'm sorry if I sounded overly confrontational, I just become passionate while talking about different subjects. Things like religious fundamentalism beating out scientific thought and reason get me riled up. I do not respect any of them nor ever will. I don't love my enemies.

You dont have to love anyone.

But if you ever want to get anywhere with people, you have to be respectful, or at least tolerable to listen to.

Yes, you become so passionate that you sound like an fundamentalist atheist zealot. You really need to tone it down if you want to get through to anyone.

I wasn't trying to convince anyone, I was just giving my opinion.

The more hostility you attach to your opinion, the less people take you seriously.
