The Koran
Well I recently started reading it because I got bored of the bible. I had finished Genesis and Exodus, so when Leviticus had about 10 pages on sacrificing cows I became bored. Well on the 3rd page of the Koran, it states the if you believe in Christianity, Judaism, or Islam you would go to heaven. This blew me out of the water. So from now on, each day I will post some prominent thing I read. Though I may skip a few days because I do not feel like reading it.

RE: The Koran
I got bored after Surah 9. I'll probably pick it up again later.

Just remember... Allah loves himself far too much.

Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding!
Take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness, truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way.

RE: The Koran
Chapter 2 is my absolute favorite:

2:65 And ye know of those of you who broke the Sabbath, how We said
unto
them: Be ye apes, despised and hated!
2:66 And We made it an example to their own and to succeeding
generations, and an admonition to the God-fearing.
2:67 And when Moses said unto his people: Lo! Allah commandeth you
that
ye sacrifice a cow, they said: Dost thou make game of us ? He
answered:
Allah forbid that I should be among the foolish!
2:68 They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us
what
(cow) she is. (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith, Verily she is a
cow
neither with calf nor immature; (she is) between the two conditions;
so
do that which ye are commanded.
2:69 They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us of
what colour she is. (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith: Verily she is a
yellow cow. Bright is her colour, gladdening beholders.
2:70 They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us
what
(cow) she is. Lo! cows are much alike to us; and Lo! if Allah wills,
we
may be led aright.
2:71 (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith: Verily she is a cow unyoked; she
plougheth not the soil nor watereth the tilth; whole and without mark.
They said: Now thou bringest the truth. So they sacrificed her, though
almost they did not.
2:72 And (remember) when ye slew a man and disagreed concerning it and
Allah brought forth that which ye were hiding.
2:73 And We said: Smite him with some of it. Thus Allah bringeth the
dead to life and showeth you His portents so that ye may understand.
2:74 Then, even after that, your hearts were hardened and became as
rocks, or worse than rocks, for hardness. For indeed there are rocks
from out which rivers gush, and indeed there are rocks which split
asunder so that water floweth from them. And indeed there are rocks
which fall down for the fear of Allah. Allah is not unaware of what ye
do.

Weird Bible stories become even weirder in the Qur'an! This time the guy was hit with a piece of dead meat and was brought back to life!!

RE: The Koran
Well I have finished the first 3 surahs and I have started the fourth. So far Allah has wrote this about 20 times "Allah is forgiving and merciful" this about 15 times "Allah is cognizant of all you do". I believe that is why Islamic people can be so fanatical. Hear or see something enough times and eventually you will think it is true.

So if I become a Muslim, please show me this post.

RE: The Koran
I haven't read all of it myself, but I have read bits and pieces to point out some logical inconsistencies in the arguments of Muslims online--namely because they're saying stuff that isn't actually in their holy book.

Wrong!

Everything is in their holey book, including all the future scientific discoveries for the next few hundred years.

It's just a matter of interpretation.

For all the supposed scientific stuff in it, there's at least one quote you can find which will sit on the other side of the spectrum. It is, in fact, just as you say: a matter of interpretation.

It's euphemistically called 'conditioning', a.k.a. brainwashing IRL.
Hindus, Buddhists, Catholics, and Jews apply exactly the same mechanism when they chant their memorized prayers.

RE: The Koran
I don't understand why a translation of the Koran would not translate Allah to God and even Surah to Image. It boggles the mind.
