The Meaning Behind My Last Name
I've always wondered where my last name came from, as it is incredibly uncommon. When I do see my name, the people who hold it always live in the midwest.

It's as if we all boarded a boat and came to The United States together.

My last name is Kofron. This name is simple enough, but I can be assured that you are pronouncing it wrong.

Recently, I did some research into the origin of my name (keep in mind that I consider myself to speak on topics that I have a firm grasp on, this is why I joined debate), and this is the definition that I found.

Czech (Kofroň): nickname from Gafron, the name of a place whose inhabitants were reputed to pontificate on matters they did not understand.

Not sure what to think Consider .

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".

Dodgy That's how I imagined it was pronounced.

I am in a similar situation. Luckily, I believe I have found the answer to where my surname came from in the famous/infamous Doomsday Book.

My surname means someone who lives at an intersection of 2 roads or rivers. ... Feels right.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

My maiden name means Friday in German. It may have been a bit bastardized at Ellis Island when grandpa got here to the states.

Current last name means '20+ years of what the hell was I thinking'.

I'm not anti-social. I'm pro-solitude. Sleepy

Mine is the anglicized form of the Gaelic Mac Alasdair (son of Alasdair) from Scotland and Ireland! Alasdair is the Gaelic version of the first name Alexander.

We first showed up in Ulster as Gallowglasses having been invited by the MacDonnells, or something like that Tongue

If I remember correctly "Mac" (or Mc) means "son of". You are the son of Alexander. You should be out killing some Middle-Easterners and Asians, cutting Gordian knotts, and propagating your status as a demi-god. Drinking Beverage
