Welch's Grape Jelly is the One True Jelly. Consumers of other brands of Grape Jelly are lost souls who must be rehabilitated and shown the way to the One True Jelly. Consumers of other flavors like strawberry or gasp! apricot are heretics who shall convert or be purified by fire and then served on toast with the One True Jelly spread upon them.

ALL HAIL THE ONE TRUE JELLY!

It was spread for your sins.

I live in grape country. There is a Welch's bottling plant minutes away from where I live, the area smells of grapes in the right season. The area is known for it's regional wines.

I still eat the cheap stuff, because it's doesn't taste any better or worse. Drinking Beverage

I am sooooo sorry for you. Sadcryface2

Anyone make freezer jam? I hate to cook but I occasionally will make freezer jam. It's pretty easy to make.

It's usually on the back of pectin packages.

It's not nearly as complicated as canning and you keep it in the freezer for about 4 month before you have to thaw it out and eat it. But it gets eaten so quickly that I don't worry about it going bad.

Thx, local strawberries are on right now so I think I'll try it. I'll post it when I have some made. Maybe next weekend. Smile

I found that most of the freezer jam recipes call for too much sugar so I put less. I love sugar but wow, it was too much even for me.

Okay, no, I don't want a lot of sugar. Might try mixing half and half with Splenda. I see if I can find a recipe for that.

RE: The One True Jelly
Found one right away.

4 cups crushed fresh strawberries
3/4 cup Sugar
1/2 cups sugar substitute
1⁄4 ounce ball fruit jell freezer jam pectin

Directions
Clean and slice up strawberries. Crush. In a big bowl mix sugars and substitute and pectin together. Add crushed strawberries. Stir well for 3 minutes. Put into freezer containers leaving 1/2 inch from the top. Let sit 30 minutes. Put on top. Refrigerate or freeze. Enjoy

Sounds easy enough.
