Great gift! So .. you couldn't give it to her sooner because you were waiting for it to age properly? Yes
And just out of curiosity, why is it the perfect gift?

Funny thing, the ad said the trilobite fossil was "new" -- by which I assumed they meant "not previously owned."

My wife has multiple collections of small items -- various kinds of books, squirrel dolls, various DVDs, Irish music CDs, stamps, coins, rocks, Christmas ornaments and so on. I thought fossils might be a nice change, especially since she's so interested in natural history. We've watched hundreds of episodes from 65 David Attenborough nature DVD sets this year -- her latest collection which she bought primarily from Britain and Australia. My personal favorites among the episodes were those which dealt with the fossil evidence for different periods in Earth's history.

Compared to the age of the universe it is relatively new.

I'm a bit jealous... I had a fossil trilobite and I realized recently that I don't know where it is. I'm hoping it just fell down behind a bookcase or something.

That’s certainly better than a coprolite fossil. Angel

Yeah, but - the coprolite is so much more fun when you have one of those guests who just has to pick everything up, fiddle with it, then ask: "What's this?"

I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best.

So who would you send the perfect gift?

For President Trump, for Christmas. Something to make him feel warm and safe at night.

I'd get Putin a Trumpy Bear... but I'd cut a hole in it's ass so Putin could shove his hand up there and use it like puppet.

The CITES rules make it pretty much impossible to use rosewood/family woods in clarinets anymore.

You *do* realize that the person with the guitar, dubbed the "Charming Guy With Guitar" in the credits is none other than Stephen Bishop? Stephen Bishop is a singer, song-writer, guitarist and sometime actor. His "hits" were in the mid 70s.

Nah! I've got one of those!

I was hoping it would smell like dino-farts. No such luck. I sniffed it, and the fossilized dino-farts fell out of the package, and about broke my big toe.

Damn paileont...palean...fossil doctors!
