RE: The Science Delusion.
Hey, Chas.

There's a difference between biased frames and slander.

On the subject of peer review,

Is anyone going to tell me that peer review has worked wonders for the global warming question? Because there's 100% consensus, right?

Hey, I.

It is possible for a group of scientists to be biased. Scientific inquiry has mechanisms in place that are effective in correcting bias, but they do not always work.

Peace and Love and Empathy,

Matt

You really need to work on your sense of humor. Drinking Beverage

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

Matt,

I'm just glad that this Rupert Sheldrake so eloquently made his position clear when he attacked Science and reason via his "10 Delusions of Science":

  1. That nature is mechanical.
  2. That matter is unconscious.
  3. The laws of nature are fixed.
  4. The totally amount of matter
and energy are always the same.
  5. That nature is purposeless.
  6. Biological inheritance is
    material.
  7. That memories are stored as
    material traces.
  8. The mind is in the brain.
  9. Telepathy and other psychic
    phenomena are illusory.
  10. Mechanistic medicine is the only kind that
    really works.
As a result, we can now stomp his ass thoroughly without arguing much about what he really said.
Matt, if you want to be a good apologist like William Lane Craig, then you had better work harder at making yourself less-well understood. In other words, you
need to learn how to Bull Shit better. Learn to use strawman argument and equivocate.
And definitely utilize the Gish Gallop.

No, it was funny - a cultural reference (vaudeville) parodying his loaded, biased approach.

What's funny is a 'memeticist' missing the meme.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
