Throw in Detroit, and I'll go for it....

As an Aussie, I always have a laugh whenever I see Texans bragging about how (allegedly) big their state is. Not the case guys, sorry.

We could fit three Texases into one—or several—of our states. I wonder if Texans make the same false claims about the size of their 2½" todgers? Big Grin

Right now it would be awkward.

Laugh out load
It'd be my verbal response, if not for Anjele, EscapeArtist, & Revs! And anybody else we got down there. We'd need to smuggle them out, first! Tongue

How would Texas seperation affect the US dept? How would they manage «their part of it».

Well they're certainly big enough. 27 million people. Good GDP. They're in a good location, they can easily trade with the US. People are certainly patriotic enough. They already have their own flag and with the way the US government is set up it wouldn't be too hard to go from state government to country government (if that makes sense).
They have the history for it, they were once their own country. They're a state, they pretty much operate as their own country now.

And it would give them many benefits. They would have total control of their own country being the main one. If they don't wanna let the gays marry they don't have too.
And them seceding would greatly increase the US national IQ average. It's a win-win.
