RE: The US is #1!

What scares me is that their are ppl here in America that think this is a good thing.
That support socialism and communism. And included in this mix of insanity you have the
rampant political correctness, the green Al Gore Freaks, and a Marxist President that all
want to fundamentally change this country. And it makes me want to pull my hair out, run
run around like a crazy person screaming I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore.

Please support your assertion that the President is a Marxist.

The U.S.A. is in need of some fundamental change. Like getting fundamentalists out of government.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Your assertion that the President is Marxist is one of the greatest feat of mental gymnastics I've ever read. It takes some real mental twisting to describe the Obama administration that has given away billions to Wall Street and bent over backwards to avoid
nationalization and pursue a policy that preserves the private
for-profit status of the bailed-out banks — as a militaristic
dictatorship of anti-wealth, anti-private property forces. You have to
somehow explain the Geithner/Paulson decisions to hand over trillions of
taxpayer dollars to the rich bankers as the formal policy expression of
progressive rage against the rich.

How do you perform such mental contortions...and still have enough brain power to tie your own shoe laces?

But I will not say we are number 1 or anything like that. I would have to live in the other country's first. I do know this for all the brits talking garbage keep in mind there have been recent arrest's for people insulting Islam on the telly or so I have read. Also European's like to laugh at us for racism well enjoy your new diverse society. Now that they are having a wave of immigrant's that wont assimilate, right wing party's are popping up left and right (I don't blame them). So you see we are not so different! I love alot of European country's have even thought of moving to some of them. Czech republic is a majority atheist I love that!

It is. I can ski in the winter only an hour's drive (3hours if I want better ski fields though). And during the summer (well, and the winter for that matter but.. well.. it's winter) the beach is 45minutes or less for 98% of this countries population. (The other 2% being Taupo which is right next to a huge ass lake, Lake Taupo).

I just drove 550kms, not a cloud in the sky the whole way, it is rather pleasently warm today too.

What a load of shit.

Quote:Americans were not just British

Sorry you're right, there was some Spanish and French colonists too.

Quote:Yes, I would, but I would not die for my government.

But you would be dying for your government.
The issue resulting in war would be a political one.

It's like the Thomas Jefferson thing. You can say that those men died for liberty and freedom from expression blah blah blah etc.. but no they didn't. They died so some rich guy with over 100 slaves wouldn't have to pay taxes.

That's how the world works.
You can have a revolution for example, but the poor will remain poor and the rich will remain rich, expect now they'll be rich AND powerful.

To die for ones country is a stupid notion in itself.
Tos imply say "yes I would" without further asking context is stupid IMO. (That being that WW2 would be perhaps worth while to die for, where as Iraq.. not so much)

If I remember correctly you mentioned before that Americans need to eat some humble pie.
I disagree. To say this implies you have something you should be humble about... which you don't, which is the point.
Alrighty muffsy, I'll reply.

You are a madman. I've replied three god damn times that I agree that our military is wasteful. Why you feel the need to retort back with something that we agree on is beyond me. Same thing with your weather...I said I'm sure NZ is lovely and you retort with....surprise, surprise, it's lovely. Hope you don't get crushed by a Jesus statue when the next earthquake hits. Taxation is directly linked with freedom, unless you have something more to add other than you think it's a load of shit then save your energy by not replying. I have no fucking clue what your rant at the bottom was about. I said I wouldn't die for my government and then you told me I would. Can you not read? How complicated is it? I said I would not...the opposite of dieing...you know, not dieing. It's that thing your doing over there, except I'm doing it over here.

I repeat myself because you don't get it. Yes we both agree it's wasteful. My point is that because of that wastefullness (as well as many other points, some of which I have mentioned which you seem to ignore) your armed forces are far from the best because they are a drain on your countries economy.

Well that's the beauty DL, my country has one of the highest rates of atheism so chances of me getting hit by a cross are much smaller then you. What's atheism like in your country... ohhhhh unlucky.

Taxation pays for shit. There we go, I gave my answer, now explain why taxation is directly linked to freedom. Do you seriously still think income tax is immoral after the pages I typed up explaining why you are a fucking moron?
You, by the way, still haven't explained why income tax is immoral expect "because it is" which is just a bs theististic argument response because you know that it isn't immoral.

Why am I not surprised you didn't understand it...
Allow me to dumb it down for you.
Governments start wars.
Governments send troops to fight wars.
Troops die.
Ergo, troops die because of government action.

That is what I mean you die for the government.

Okay sweetheart, I'll try again because you can't read so well. I don't disageee with your first point. I am quite vocal on the forum and elsewhere that our miitary spending is harmful to America economically. I've said it many times before, including on the thread which you referenced about income tax. Do you understand? We agree. Normally when people agree about something that is the end of the discussion. I understand, and whole-heartedly agree with your point. I never said anything to the contrary, nor will you ever catch me saying anything to the contrary. What I said was that we had the best military. I never said our military spending was a wise choice, as I do not think that it is. All clear now?

My comment regarding the earthquake was not a comment motivated by religious demographics. It was a jab out of frustration with you and a reference to the Christchurch statue and your countries earthquakes. It was a stupid joke that was meant to be a jab. That's it, don't read too much into it.

You are not representing my views in it's entirety, and this statement is false. That is not 'all' I said. Maybe you couldn't comprehend it, but that is not 'the only thing' I said. I did say it is immoral, but I never said "because it is".

Okay, I'll slow it down for you once more my little muffsy-poo. You asked would I die for my country. I replied that I would, but not for my government. I never said that I would be willing to fight (anymore) in a war that was caused by, or was in protection of, my government. In other words I will not fight in another war wearing a U.S. uniform unless such a time arises where I felt it was morally justified, which isn't very likely to happen before I am too old for war. Far more likely, however, is a scenario in which I would feel justified in fighting against my government, however I hope that that would never happen as well. You question was about my willingness, not about the likely-hood of the possibility that that, or any other scenario may play out. Understand what I mean by willing to die for my country, but not my government?

Your military IS NOT the best because it is a drain on your economy.

You didn't have one point to back up that "income tax is immoral" just like now when you say taxation is directly tied to freedom which is complete bullshit and you have yet to actually offer any defense as to your statement.

Just reading a national geographic mag.
It has a piece of the mose livable cities in the world.
Of the top 30 cities, The EU has 15, N. and S. America have 6, Oceania have 7, Non-EU (Switzerland, Norway and Iceland) have 3 and Asia has 1 (32 total because of tie).
That's right, combined Australia and New Zealand beat the USA, Canada and all Latin America and South American cities.

The top 3 were, Vienna in Austria, Zurich in Switzerland and Auckland in New Zealand.

The highest ranked, out of the 32 cities, US city was Honolulu ranked 29, and then San Francisco tied with Adelaide (Australia) and Paris in 30th position.

The 1 Asian country is Singapore in 25th position. Where I live, Wellington, is ranked 13th.
