Not a bad idea.... I do have a can of tuna, some old dirty laundry, and a bottle of lube. Consider

(Forgive me Charis if I go to far!)

I gotta know... What the hell is the tuna for?

Actually, no, I don't really wanna know.

It's in regards to another thread. Tongue

A person very dear to me was badly hurt through a misunderstanding and miscommunication. For this, I am sorry, and he knows it. That said, any blaming me for malicious intent is for the birds. I will not wear some scarlet letter, I will not be anybody's whipping girl, and I will not lurk in silence.

Makes me think of a stand-up comedian I saw named Robert Schimmel. He said "When I was a kid my mom told me that when you jack off all of your dead relatives are watching. But then I figured 'Fuck it. Who are they going to tell?'"

Me too almost. The thought kinda satisfies my secret inner exhibitionist.

I love Mormons and their underwear. Everything about them makes me either laugh or shake my head with deep disapproval as I wonder how far they will go to remain the most ridiculous.

RE: The War on Masturbation
The problem is the anti-masturbation porn league have a point to an extent.

Too much porn is available instantaneously and too much masturbating can cause harm - especially in relationship building between sexes and younger people.
Eg raising male expectations that every woman has to look like a super porn model and women expectations too that all men last long and can keep shooting multiple shots at will. (and all sorts of other expectations - the above are just examples)

From a psychological approach there is truth to this as high porn usage does reduce threshold for stimulation & arousal, leading to a form of addiction that can be psychologically harmful and even lead to impotence. Just consider the first time ever looking at even soft porn being extremely arousing and then being desensitized to the same porn (pretty much like any drug abuse) Porn can be a form of drug abuse in this manner. (technically it does the similar neurological changes in the brain - desensitization & reduction of threshold to experience the same pleasure arousal)

Clearly this has little to do with the commander of the universe dictating what we should be doing with our sex lives considering religious fundamentalism has its own major problems with sex.

On the other side from the religious fundamentalists who insist masturbation & porn are sinful have the opposite problem of creating no channel for releasing build up sexual desire in a safe way (assuming someone doesn't have some great relationship) and this leads to all sorts of trouble such as violence and priests fucking little boys. (Aggression/Violence seem to be correlated with those who don't release their sexual arousal via masturbation/sexual relations and end up moralizing and seeing the world as evil & decrepit - then making "justice" to fix the world via violence eg claiming the west is evil due to sexual promiscuity and Islam will "solve the problem" (as an example)
Whether this has anything to do with repression, building up testosterone channeled towards violence rather than sexuality and creating an "enemy other" who are sinners is an interesting hypothesis to explore.

Using sex as a weapon in religious coercion is also the ultimate compulsion technique. By manipulating peoples guilt using sex which is one of the most powerful desires religions can persuade (coerce ! ) people and manipulate them like no other method - far more effective than warfare and revolutions threatening death or conversion ! People dont know they are even being manipulated when they feel guilt about sex and assume the guilt is a natural manifestation of Gods anger watching them masturbate. (doesnt God have better things to do than watch masturbation ? like reveal Himself ? )

Just imaging masturbating to the prettiest porn star and then God turns up. (No pun, the penis isn't God)
What would you say ?

I agree with the "too much of good thing" idea. But, I wouldn't dare to presume how much can be too much for different people.

Sarah Silverman, the fount of wisdom that she is, once wrote that, "Whether it's weed or internet porn, make it a treat."

"The truth must dazzle gradually / or every man be blind." Emily Dickinson

Yes however, what leads one to an addiction may not be the same thing for another. As well, everyone has a different threshold, a different level of tolerance surrounding addiction.

When someone does something everyday and continues to function in everyday life then, they might be an addict or not - possibly a high functioning addict. It's all about control and control is all about reinforcement. Addicts know how to hide their addictions from everyone, especially themselves - it's an individualized form of reinforcement/control. Availability of the addictive thing is simply another thing that the addicted person must reinforce/control. When the thing that person does everyday begins to effect everyday functioning or cause interaction issues with others then, that person is addicted and the hiding becomes increasingly less successful. That person is now controlled by the controlling thing.

Addiction really is a very individual thing with specialized reinforcement that needs to be broken down piece by piece. The most successful treatments have been highly individualized; replacing the reinforcement with a different reinforcement. It is really a "deprograming" and then a "reprograming" - very much akin to "brainwashing".

Frankly, religion itself can be a form of addiction -- but I digress.

Sorry, didn't mean to derail ...
