The apocalyptic end days red calf dunh dunh dunh
As we all know, there are those that clasp their hands in glee at their assertions that the biblical end times are upon us Rolleyes

Have you heard of the jewish red calf that will signal jesus's triumphant return?

Apparently there are those that are working hard to get their hands on "the red sacrificial calf"..

“This is the statute of the law that the Lord has commanded: Tell the people of Israel to bring you a red heifer without defect, in which there is no blemish, and on which a yoke has never come.” (Numbers 19:2)

The red heifer is a cow whose coat has no more than one single hair of any color other than red, and whose skin, hoofs, and eyelids are all also reddish. Rabbi Chaim Richman, the world’s foremost expert on red heifers and director of The Temple Institute, confirmed that the red heifer was being raised in accordance with Jewish law with the express purpose of “being presented to the Jewish people for the role of cleansing in the third temple.”

“The God of Israel determined based on his wisdom that the ashes of the red heifer is the secret to restoring purity to the world,” explained Richman.

The article below shows the excitement of one being born in the US...uhoh....wait though before you begin to pack for the rapture...

Update: Unfortunately, several months later, the cow was found to have more than one colored hair that is not red. Gasp

The existence of a red heifer that conforms with all of the rigid requirements imposed by halakha is a biological anomaly. The animal must be entirely of one color, and there is a series of tests listed by the rabbis to ensure this; for instance, the hair of the cow must be absolutely straight (to ensure that the cow had not previously been yoked, as this is a disqualifier). According to Jewish tradition, only nine Red Heifers were actually slaughtered in the period extending from Moses to the destruction of the Second Temple. Mishnah Parah recounts eight, stating that Moses prepared the first, Ezra the second, Simon the Just and Yochanan the High Priest prepared two each, and Elioenai ben HaQayaph and Hanameel the Egyptian prepared one each (Mishna Parah 3:5).

The absolute rarity of the animal, combined with the detailed ritual in which it is used, have given the Red Heifer special status in Jewish tradition. It is cited as the prime example of a ḥok, or biblical law for which there is no apparent logic. Because the state of ritual purity obtained through the ashes of a Red Heifer is a necessary prerequisite for participating in Temple service, efforts have been made in modern times by Jews wishing for biblical ritual purity (see tumah and taharah) and in anticipation of the building of The Third Temple to locate a red heifer and recreate the ritual.

Facepalm

wait there's more:

Some Fundamentalist Christians believe that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ cannot occur until the Third Temple is constructed in Jerusalem, which requires the appearance of a red heifer born in Israel. Clyde Lott, a cattle breeder in O'Neill, Nebraska, United States, is attempting to systematically breed red heifers and export them to Israel to establish a breeding line of red heifers in Israel in the hope that this will bring about the construction of the Third Temple and ultimately the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

yes.....yes brothers, let us toil to bring the end of the world so we can kick back in heaven together....

I think there are quite a few "red heifers" in Israel, but they're probably dye jobs.

No. There can be no artificial selection of red heifers.
No. There can be no GMO red heifers either.

Makes me think they are trying to circumvent god's plan by genetically engineering a red calf....if it was 'time" for the calf to appear, it would Angel

"world’s foremost expert on red heifers"? Shocking

What a wasted life.

Easy to bobble this one. Just sidle up to old "Ruby" and drop a yoke on her! Better yet, cut the fence posts most of the way through. When "Ruby" comes into heat, and "Ferdinand" pushes his way in (twice- fence and vagina), it's over. No heifers to see here, move along, now.

Freaking superstitions. Dayamn.
