Fair enough I'll give it a look. But take into account a PC can be upgraded a console cannot. And console manufacturers take a revenue from the games on the market (hence the overblown prices) (i mean 60$ a game , really ?) something PC hardware manufacturers cannot do. But I'd honestly like to see if a console player struggling to play an RTS like Halo Wars would feel if i told them to buy a mouse and stick it in the console :-p |

RE: The console is of the devil
I rather dislike gaming on computers. I find it uncomfortable and the gaming computers tend to be far too expensive. Not to mention that consoles are portable.

Although I may have just sold this TV for 2. Tomorrow, the excess in the pocket goes to Wells Fargo. The excess held by the payee still being over a grand, and I'm thinking - what? Gaming pc.
![]() No so much for just gaming, but the high performance graphic card means ellenjanuary can spin up some high performance digital art. Yeah, buddy. Always an angle with I am 4. ![]() |

It is just not possible to compete against people that have faster internet connection, better hardware, and console style controllers. While I am trying to make my hands do the impossible and quickly control my character on a battlefield using a keyboard which takes every finger you have just to move freely, someone with more money than you have is sitting there using their thumbs to move and only a couple of fingers to shoot at me. By the time I move my hand to return fire, they have already moved and are still shooting. For the most part when it comes to consoles, everyone has the same hardware and controls. On occasion someone will have a better internet connection, however that only helps so much. There are sometimes cheaters on consoles, but it is far less often than on pc. |

I play cs1.6 still.
The only games I play on console are 3-d fighters like tekken and soulcalibur and why would I want to play those on pc. When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity. You cannot successfully determine beforehand which side of the bread to butter. |

Consoles are cheaper, less hassle and they're more laid back.
Plus, I get a strain on my eyes when staring at a computer screen for too long. IE: 30 minutes+. My WASD hand also becomes sore on the back side when using it for too long. I see your point, but PC is just not comfortable. Plus, you guys don't have Rock Band. <Wink> |

RE: The console is of the devil
So I've been reading this thread and have noticed some myths about PC gaming. First and foremost; It's expensive, and you have to keep upgrading for every year!
False. "can you get a gaming pc comparable to the 360 for 750 or less? Ah, no." You're right, they won't be comparable, a pc that's $750 will blow a console out of the water if you make it yourself. Hell you can spend $500 on a build and it would be a good console replacement. And overall it will be cheaper than a console. "What, how?" I'm glad you asked young padawan, you see, while the upfront cost might be more, games are cheaper. AAA games on console usually stay $60 for a looooong time, yet on PC because of the increased competition there are many more sales. For example, recently I bought Crysis 1, Warhead, and 2 all for $18 and even more recently Metro 2033 for $5! Also on console you don't get Free to pay titles or many of the great indie titles that are very cheap. "But the next batch of games will destroy your PC, unless you update your graphics card, and ram, and all of your drivers." Right now I have a pretty terrible graphics card, a few years old and wasn't even the very best when it came out, and yet I can still run battlefield 3 on low (console equivalent) with some tweaks and get 45 - 60+ fps (console superior). this is because PC games are made to work with a wide range of hardware, not just the newest stuff, yes to get the very best quality you will need to upgrade a lot, but you don't need the very best quality! Also game won't be using more than 8 gb pf RAM for a hell of a long time so I wouldn't worry about that. Oh yeah, drivers? Drivers are free...and most likely you will only need to update your graphics card driver. Now here are a couple of things you guys posted that didn't make sense; "([Benefit of consoles is]Quicker gaming without massive install times. Less gaming hiccups. (due to less variables))" What? PCs are more powerful therefore it would be the opposite way around. "It is just not possible to compete against people that have... console style controllers. While I am trying to make my hands do the impossible and quickly control my character on a battlefield using a keyboard which takes every finger you have just to move freely, someone with more money than you have is sitting there using their thumbs to move and only a couple of fingers to shoot at me." WHAT? Mouse and Keyboard are MUCH more precise and effective than a console controller JUST TRY hooking up you controller to your PC there is a reason console has aim assist and PC doesn't. Ask anyone, a mediocre PC gamer will beat an advanced console player keyboard + mouse vs. Controller every time. I have no idea how you came to this conclusion... Here is a $500 and $750 build. They are both better than a console, especially the $750 one. $500: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/iK2d $750: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jAlx *Prices subject to change* |
