I missed the TEC-9 one. As a superfan of Sons of Anarchy I am so embarrassed. Weeping

RE: The gun thread. Enthusiasts only.
Today's project was to do my very first AR build.

The lower parts kit arrived this morning, so in about 2 hours I went from:

to this:

It's a rifle configuration - 20" barrel, rifle length gas system/buffer tube, A2 front sight, detachable handle, fixed skeleton stock with a LOP of 13.5".

I've laser bore-sighted it, and I'm off to the range tomorrow to sight it in.

Did you clean up the trigger? How many lbs pull? How much takeup....

Trigger work is pretty easy on the AR platform...

I inspected the trigger parts for burrs and roughness. They looked fine so I installed them.

I'm going to the range shortly to see how it feels.

RE: The gun thread. Enthusiasts only.
Polishing the contact points of your trigger, disconnector and hammer with a 6000 grit stone isn't hard. It is also not hard to change an angle or round something off that could result in an unreliable or even dangerous fire control group. It can also lower effective life expectancy of the parts by removing the surface hardening from the wear points. A couple of the better national match suppliers will flat out tell you that polishing the surfaces on a RRA national match trigger will get you a smoother pull, but you will probably end up with a trigger that is only good for 1000 to 1500 pulls before it needs replacement.

BTW...

SGAMMO.com has IMI M193 for $0.34 a round and M855 for $.37.

Federal HST 147 Grain 9mm for $26.95 a box of 50.

If you prefer Gold Dots in your 9mm they have 124 grainers for $23.95 for 50.

And for you 22 folks they have 500 round bricks of SK Standard Plus 22 LR for $59.50. My 10/22 loves this stuff.
