Well, 2017 started well at the trap field New Year's Day.
I shot 22, 23, 25 in cold, breezy conditions. Smile

RE: The gun thread. Enthusiasts only.
Last summer I enjoyed coaching the new shooters on my trap team and was even somewhat successful even though I was just winging it.

I decided to take that further and will be taking the NRA Level 1 Shotgun Coach School in February. The course is endorsed by ATA, NSSA, NSCA, and USA Shooting.
I hope to apply new skills to coaching this upcoming trap season.

I think I get a cool new patch. Big Grin

Training of instructors and general safety are a couple of the things the NRA does that often gets overlooked.

Since deciding to leave the Vermont National Guard, after which I won't exactly get many opportunities to hit up the range, I've been looking into the import procedures and regulations a little more closely.

My VP9 is exactly 1.16 mm too short to be legal in Canada lol.

Godammit Tongue

A Mormon friend (relative of a guy in my unit) has offered to buy everything I've got (guns, ammo, accessories) for 25k and he'll let me use any of the guns I sell him if I come for a visit. The more I find just how little I'll be able to import, the more tempted I am.

Looks like you could put a threaded barrel on the VP9 and make it legal for Canada.

I was thinking a permanent muzzle flash hider or compensator....

RE: The gun thread. Enthusiasts only.
At a quick glance most of the threaded barrels I saw were still too short, but looking at already Canadian legal VP9's there does indeed seem to be some options.

The Stag 9t appears to be good to go as is, same with the M4.

I guess in reality my guns are quite importable. It's the accessories that I'll have to leave behind. My magazines will need to be pinned at 5 rounds so I probably won't even bother. I'll just get smaller ones. The laws regarding ammunition are (probably intentionally) vague. I'm supposed to have a "reasonable" amount for my own use, and I can only bring across 5,000 without making things complicated. Not a chance on the bump fire stocks or the OSS suppressors I picked up quite recently, before I knew my civilian job was gonna start having issues with my training schedule :/

I suppose for general range use, it's all quite doable. But my days of stockpiling for the end of the world are over lol.

Still got a few months to get it taken care of.

The one I looked at was listed at 4.45".
