How is that anything like what you were originally asking?

I think really deep,

Take 5 coins, toss each coin and place the coin on a table or counter, result side up.

Each box has a 1/2 chance that all the boxes only contain balls.

That makes even less sense than most of your posts

I don't think he knows what he was originally asking; at least he's unable to explain it in any way that can be understood

box one , a 1/2 chance the result in there is a head

box two , an equal to box one of 1/2 chance the result in there is a head

box three , an equal to box one, and two of 1/2 chance the result in there is a head

i think you get the gist.

The odds of that appear to be considerably less than 1/2, less than 1/5 even.

and they are right; every one of the unknown results has a 1/2 chance of being heads

I think he's thinking of it as choosing between the different coins, which would result in something other than 50/50 since the coins aren't evenly split. However, for the person choosing, all they can say is whatever coin they choose had a .50 chance of being heads and .5 tails. I'm pretty sure it's 50/50 man.

What other choice could there be with any of the coins? Could any of them be something other than heads or tails?
If I pick a coin and you flip the other four coins again, will my coin change as a result?

Thankfully, no. The chances of a ball in each box does not affect the chances of a ball in any of the other boxes. The chances that any coin is heads is not affected by the state of any other coin.
