The drummer on this recording is my fellow teacher. We work alongside each other.

Great player.

Lil' bit o' Louis Armstrong from 1933.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Hey Dances. The great session drummer Earl Palmer, in his autobiography Backbeat, claimed Louis Armstrong's greatest ambition was to be a pimp in New Orleans. Smile

Had he not been such an amazing musician, perhaps that's what career he'd have had. Big Grin

That doesn't surprise me at all. He had a pretty rough childhood. I think I read that his first gigs were in whore houses and I'm not sure if they even paid him. It's been a while since I read a book about him. He was as tough as nails though and damn, he sure could play that horn!
