Lightbulb The peace that passes all understanding, atheist edition
A Better Life: 100 Atheists Speak Out on Joy & Meaning in a World Without God
Via a site set up to sell the book. Tip of the hat to Peezus.

I am an atheist. Indeed I am what is termed a "strong" atheist.

I am being enjoined by others allegedly like me to buy a lavish coffee table book for fifty bucks featuring pics of richer prettier folks than I having more fun than I.

That is, it's like porn, only SFW and more expensive.

I distrust people who yap all the time about how happy they are, especially those who nominally share my philosophical positions. Because us atheists are supposed to know better.

Or am I supposed to give this book to my less enlightened friends in order to turn them on to atheism? Rolleyes

Nonsense is nonsense, but the history of nonsense is a very important science.

It's a little self pandering, but Atheists never claim to be perfect.

Theism is to believe what other people claim, Atheism is to ask "why should I".
