Thumbs Up The uk blocking porn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACrrGTiV1VI

I think this is dumb as hell.
Here in Britain we have a newspaper called the 'sun' and it has a page 3 girl...basically it is a topless girl on page 3 (which anyone can buy) and some how that's fine
Also normal freeview Satellite TV's get porn channel already installed on the system.....

Really annoyed at my country right now...

What's everyone's thought on this?

What's the logic behind it all?

I don't get it.

It is rather rare for me to get genuinely angry at things, but this has angered me quite a bit. Censorship is rarely something I can agree with.

This is one of the BBC articles on the matter: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23401076

It smacks a little of John Major's 'Family Values' nonsense.

All that's needed is a huge number of people opting in (to porn) for a message to be sent that the nanny-state is not popular.

"Mr Cameron warned in a speech that access to online pornography was "corroding childhood"."

If we (the Brits) didn't do this kinda thing occasionally we'd be in danger of becoming too French with all their detrimental relaxed views to nudity and children learning how to drink properly from an early age.

Simply not British!

RE: The uk blocking porn
Its an atempt at stamping on free speech using something poorly disguised as "child protection". It allows for shutting down of sites that have a part that the government defines as "adult content". Adult content could be defined as political views counter to the government. The pirate bay is blocked here yet it had increased traffic after the ban came into place, there is always a way round blocks. It will lead to more people coming into contact with extreme content as they turn to tor etc as non extreme sites are blocked "to protect kids".

This is from the man that left his 8 year old daughter in a pub by herself, so as you can tell he clearly is all for child saftey.

I cant wait till the next election. I seriously hope these bastards get the same kind of votes they get here in scotland. Next to none.

Behold the power of the force!

RE: The uk blocking porn
The biggest joke is that in the uk they sell porn mags in shops!...didn't hear anything about banning those
plus how are they going to stop people on phone networks?
