I don't think Fundy Christian Taliban members are insightful enough to realize that. Rather, they think that since their religion is superior to that of Satan or the Antichrist (Islam), that America would be better off it were governed just as conservatively as Iran, because our country would be committed to the "one true god" of love.

Love. As denoted chapter and verse in the Old Testament. Particularly convincing in that respect, is when omniscient omnipresent love god drowned the whole world and left one family to repopulate our species through inbreeding.

No what I mean, cousin?Tongue

That is exactly why we may see The United Church of America on the map between Canada and Mexico.

The religious are relentless. In my town Planned Parenthood opened an office where abortions aren't even performed. They have been picketed every. single. day. since they opened, even though they offer many free services to women in the area who need them - like pap tests, etc. I know they have their free speech rights and all that, but this is a small town and many women are afraid to go to the PP office to get what they need because of the picketers. Makes me ill to think of it. It's all because this is such a Catholic town and the Pope rules from Rome, no matter how illogical he may be.

Sounds like the PP in your area needs to do more of an outreach to let women know what they're about and that they do not perform abortions. Also, if the anti-choice protesters are on their private property there's always arrest for trespassing, so as to send a clear message to back the hell off.
I know of one clinic, when I lived in Florida, who's property extended to the street, which included the sidewalk. Precluding picketers from posting anywhere near their facility.Idea Wink

Many PP locations that do offer abortions, and other women's health clinics, have utilized volunteers to act as protective escorts for the journey from the woman's car to the clinic and back. Perhaps you could approach that PP in your area and make suggestions and even volunteer to be one of those first escorts, in the event they don't already have them.

I've heard that sentences are very high in the US, but this? Even as an extreme case, it's ridiculous that it's possible, although I won't say anything else about it since I don't know the details...(WINK WINK)
