Theocratic government: Would you take up arms?
Asking mostly of Americans, but interested in hearing anyone's reply:

If a theocratic government took over, would you be willing to take up arms against it?

I realize there are about ten million degrees of "theocracy," so I'm just going to generally say a government that proclaims Christianity as the law of the land and began tailoring laws to fit a fundamentalist definition of that (because, y'know, it's a little hard to imagine, say, First Congregationalists taking over....)

God does not work in mysterious ways — he works in ways that are indistinguishable from his non-existence.
Jesus had a pretty rough weekend for your sins.

I'd infiltrate them.

Depends on the way they try to run it. I already accept that if the government fractures, based on the power hierarchy (those who arm themselves vs. those who have spent the past half century trying to disarm themselves), I would likely end up having to align myself with a bunch of religious fruitcakes as opposed to with gangs.

Simple answer is, yes, I'd be willing to. More complicated answer is I would not do so based solely on the fact that the government was theocratic in nature.

I'd hope so.

I can't take up arms, I'm a chicken.

Almost certainly.
Possibly not openly at first, maybe engage in underground activity, including sabotage and assassination.

This^ Covert operations. Use of deadly force only when no other option.

No, I would sneak away to another country.

If we came from dust, then why is there still dust?

RE: Theocratic government: Would you take up arms?
Depends heavily on circumstances.
ie: If there was a strong armed movement to the point of civil war I would certainly side with the side that was against it. Whether that means take up arms is a different matter as you can participate but not fight (admin, logistics etc..).

If there wasn't an armed movement there would certainly be a strong political movement and I would certainly get behind that too.

I think for me to actually physically pick up a gun and go fight for my country circumstances would have to be pretty dire. ie: North Korea rose up with Russia and China (never gonna happen but lets pretend for a moment) and China actually took over New Zealand (much like what the Japanese were threatening to do in WW2, thanks America for saving our ass by the way) I would think I would be inclined to pick up a rocket launcher and point it towards a Chinese vehicle or two.
