Only perhaps to the flying spaghetti monster or the magical teapot that is orbiting the sun... but otherwise...

SSHHHHHHHHHHHHH....don't tell. It's a secret.

No, not really...this forum is just one really bored and creative person with a LOT of personalities who posts as different people and has discussions and arguments with those personas.

See here they are, the bruises, some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Quote:And you are surprised why?
A valid question and one it took me a minute to find a reasonable answer.
Here's my best shot at explaining why I was surprised: If I found out there
was a group of people that got together or formed a community based on
their non-belief in Santa Claus, then that too would surprise me. Not
exactly the same but I think it makes my point

Why would other people starting prayer request threads make me a theist?!?
I should note that those other forums a secular and have nothing to do
with God or religion (other hobbies I have). But we all know religion
gets a pass, so nobody says anything (except me) when someone starts a
prayer thread. In fact, lots of people post in with "prayers sent". I
will sometimes post in with findings from the Templeton Foundation
prayer study, which people will often dismiss out of hand. I mean, why
let facts interfere with a good 'ole online prayer service? Big Grin

Those prayer circles are one of the most nutty things I see around.

Up until now I was under the impression that only religious forums have prayer threads. I stand corrected. Yes

Actually the forum was supposed to be titled "the Thinking Athirst" - you know, as in "athirst for the living water which flows from the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ".

But the founder was so fucking parched from not having drunk any living water that he cocked up the spelling. Now look at us Sadcryface

Yep, that's how it starts. First we get you to like this place. Then we reel you in.

You're on the hook now, prayer requests will commence as soon as we land you in the boat.
